Motion Poetry is a combination of poetry readings and guided dance improvisation session that audiences can chose to interact with through movement or simply to listen to. In time of social distancing it is difficult to find ways to connect to the energy of live dance. Dance cannot be articulated in words but the abstract language of poetry can enable new perspectives of the body and movement.
The poems encompass the raw energy of live, physical interaction and feature language of the body, movement and connection. This experience will provide passing on of energy from the dance studio into people’s homes and bodies and direct and visceral activation of the imaginative mind. It is an embodied appreciated of the joy of word and an articulated celebration of the power of movement.
