Drawing the Distance
A Going the Distance Project
Through an online publication, Byrd will make visible a large part of his practice which is often unseen by audiences. He will unpack his process of drawing and reflect on the steps taken and the insights that come. Observational drawing, research drawings and preparatory drawings are all used to see, test and explain ideas in his practice. These research drawings may never fully fledged artworks, however the learnings filter back into his paintings, murals and other projects. For Going the Distance, this digital notebook will chronicle the journey from idea to product and make visible the creative process. A wealth of inspiration for anyone looking to develop or strengthen their own creative practice.
